Jeans Care - How
To Remove Cement Stains From Jeans

My 4 year old daughter was playing in wet cement in her best jeans and got cement all over them!
I tried soaking them in water right away, but no luck. I didn't know what to do, so I started thinking about what's in cement that makes a cement stain.
Usually if I can figure out the basis of the stain, grease, organic, waxy, whatever, I have a good chance of getting the stain out. So, I started thinking about what cement is made of and I thought of lime. That made me think of the Lime Away I had in my bathroom.
I decided to give it a try in an inconspicuous place first and it was fine. I went ahead and used it with a cleaning brush and a little scrubbing and the cement stains were gone. I'm sure there are similar products that would also work to get cement stains out.
The Lime Away worked great to remove the wet cement stains on the jeans, but I don't think it would work if the cement had hardened.
I have to quickly mention that wet cement can cause serious burns to the skin and while it's okay for short term contact, no one should have prolonged contact with cement and you should wash immediately afterwards.
